Referred to as the ‘Father of Scuba Diving.’ Jacques spent his life exploring the underwater world. The abundance of marine life & specially the sharks drew Jacques there, and that is now what attracts our divers too.

It is important to note that the water temperature varies a lot on Aliwal Shoal. Surprisingly the water temperature ranges from 24 degrees in the summer months to a brisk 19 degrees in winter. This is because Aliwal Shoal lies on the inner edge of the Mozambique current. Making the currents, often referred to as the Aliwal Express very interesting. In fact, it is these currents that attract a plethora of marine life. Interestingly they are super rich in nutrients which feed many sea creatures. Long story short….you should be diving here!
